Get to Know It in Your Community

Over the next year people in your community will have opportunities to Get to Know about air quality, health and the Air Quality Health Index.

Information on the Index will be available through clean air and environmental events, at public health units, designated flu clinics, asthma clinics and respiratory care programs and through the local broadcast media.

Kelowna celebrates Clean Air Day.

Volunteers help sign up participants for the Commuters Challenge - carpooling, riding the bus and cycling are better for our health and the air!			The Commuter Challenge is any green method of transportation! Riding your bike is active transportation that can improve the air quality. This bike is from ChainLine Cycle.			A Commuter Challenge participant enjoying donated coffee and Bliss cookies. Kelowna offered free public transportation on Clean Air Day. Riding the bus and carpooling helps create less air pollution.

Kamloops focuses on air quality education during Clean Air Day 2010.

Various educational displays were set up during Clean Air Day in Kamloops. People were educated on the air quality and other topics such as, vermicomposting, water conservation, xeriscaping, tree health and energy conservation.			Residents were invited to the Annual Clean Air Day Celebration at Riverside Park to learn about Air Quality and to indulge in the Clean Air Day Cake.
